SINGAPORE - Oxley Holdings will not be having an Ibis brand hotel in Stevens Road after all.
Instead, the hotel will operate under the Mercure brand.
In a statement on July 2, the company said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Oxley Gem, had registered two businesses: Novotel Singapore on Stevens and Mercure Singapore on Stevens.
They will be the names of the two new hotels on Stevens Road which are targeted to commence operations by the end of 2017.

Oxley Holdings had previously announced that the hotels would be operated under the Novotel and Ibis brand names.
According to previous reports, Novotel Singapore on Stevens will have 254 rooms, a 500-seat ballroom, meeting facilities, food and beverage outlets, a fitness centre and a swimming pool.
Mercure Singapore on Stevens is likely to have 528 rooms, a lobby bar or cafe and a gymnasium.
The hotels will sit on the site of the former The Pines Country Club, which was acquired by Oxley in 2013 as an investment property.
The land parcel, about 198,000 sq ft in size, has a gross permissible floor area of about 318,000 sq ft and a 103-year leasehold tenure.
The new 10-storey development is near the Scotts Road and Orchard Road shopping belts.
