Temasek Holdings has announced the appointment of Dr Wu Yibing as its head for China, with effect from Oct 1.

He will succeed Mr Ding Wei, who will become Temasek's advisory senior director for China from Oct 1.

Dr Wu, 46, will work together with Mr Chia Song Hwee, Temasek's co-head for China, to build on its presence in China as a long-term, active investor in successful enterprises.

Dr Wu is presently the chairman and chief executive of Goldstone Investment, the direct investment arm of China's Citic Securities, and is also president of Citic Private Equity Funds Management.

He has investment experience and expertise in the financial, energy, consumer and technology sectors.
