MAS proposes changes to make prospectuses easier for investors to understand

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) on Monday released a consultation paper with proposals that aim to make it easier for investors to understand company prospectuses.

A company will lodge a prospectus with the MAS when it seeks to go public.

The central bank's consultation paper included proposals such as developing a regulatory guide to encourage good drafting practices for prospectuses.

Other suggestions included boosting the page limit for a product highlights sheet and adopting a question and answer format for the product highlights sheet of equity securities.

Any comments on the consultation paper should should reach MAS by Nov 14.
