1 HSBC will shut its private banking business in India, marking the exit of another foreign bank from the cut-throat business in Asia's third-largest economy, reported Reuters.

2 Gold was the most active or second-most active ETF this month. Prices are holding at five-year lows on positive US economic data. The most active ETFs include iShares MSCI India Index ETF, SPDR Gold Shares, SPDR Straits Times Index ETF.

3 Olam will expand into animal feed and related businesses in Nigeria. It will set up poultry and fish feed mills as well as hatcheries for day-old chicks. The global animal feed industry has a strong growth outlook, notably in emerging markets.

4 OCBC has priced A$100 million (S$102 million) of senior floating rate notes due 2018 . Interest will be at the 3-month bank bill swap reference rate plus 0.86 per cent a year. They are set to be rated Aa1 by Moody's Investors Service.

5 Malaysian professional services firm Axcelasia closed unchanged at its initial public offering price of 25 cents at the end of its trading debut.
