Managing partner of KPMG Singapore to become firm's Asia Pacific chairman

MANAGING partner of auditing firm KPMG in Singapore, Mr Tham Sai Choy, will become its Asia Pacific chairman as of Oct 1.

Mr Tham will remain located in Singapore and retains his role here.

He succeeds Mr Hideyo Uchiyama, who is chairman and chief executive of KPMG in Japan.

With the new appointment, Mr Tham joins KPMG's Global Executive Team, in addition to his position as a member on the KPMG Global Board.

Mr Tham said: "The Asia-Pacific region is a key growth market for KPMG. It is an exciting region brimming with opportunities and challenges for our clients."
