Koh Brothers clinches $98m contract for build-to-order HDB project in Yishun

Singapore-listed construction, property and engineering group Koh Brothers Group said on Thursday it has won a contract worth $98 million from the Housing and Development Board (HDB) for building works at Vine Grove @ Yishun.

The build-to-order project will involve the construction, completion and maintenance of five 13-storey blocks and one seven-storey block, comprising 696 residential units in all, Koh Brothers said. The group will also have to build and maintain a seven-storey garage and carpark, a children's playground and fitness stations, and a neighbourhood park, among other things.

Work on the project is expected to start in March and last for 31 months.

Koh Brothers' managing director and group chief executive Francis Koh said the group's expertise in precast materials "positions us well to execute public sector construction projects efficiently".

A "significant 16 per cent" of the Vine Grove @ Yishun project involves precast elements such as façade slabs, horizontal slabs as well as offsite fabrication, Mr Koh added.

The group does not expect this project to have a material impact on its financial performance for the current financial year.
