Unexpected ElderShield payouts for dad

I have made an ElderShield insurance claim for my severely disabled father, which was subsequently approved by his insurer, NTUC Income.

The claim last month was made under his ElderShield Basic 300 plan. It means my 83-year-old father will receive monthly payouts of $300 for the next five years, which translates to a total of $18,000.
