"When we look at gold, it has lots of merits historically. It bothers me that it does not produce a return. Instead, to generate a return, we have to outguess the other guessers about their future guess of gold prices," he added.

Mr Jeremy Ng, CGS-CIMB Research market strategist, said technical analysis has always been a taboo subject for most investors. Some swear by it while others totally disregard the study of price charts.
