Hotel Grand Central wins approval for New Zealand project

GRAND Hotels International has won resource consent approval to rebuild on the Cashel Street site in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand.

The firm, which is owned by Hotel Grand Central, wants to redevelop the central city plot site with retail, office space and hotel facilities.

Building should start some time next year with completion expected in late 2015.

The redevelopment will have a total height of 50.1 m and a total gross floor area of about 27,359 square metres. It will provide one level of retail space, five levels of office space, five levels of hotel rooms and also have car parking lots.
