Health care insurer to set up innovation hub

SINGAPORE - Health care insurer Aetna International is establishing an innovation hub for Asia which will focus on leveraging local expertise and customer feedback to develop tailored solutions for Asian markets, based on its existing offerings.

Based in Singapore, the hub is specifically aimed at local healthcare market needs in regional markets including Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and Singapore, the company said in a release on Wednesday (Nov 30).

Solutions from the hub will allow Aetna to offer value and service to the local populations, and to increase awareness of its products and expand its footprint in the region.

"The hub will help us translate Aetna's vast healthcare expertise to markets in Asia and increase our reaction time to market developments in the region," said Mr Ran Wang, Aetna's regional product manager for South-east Asia and Hong Kong.
