European Chamber of Commerce in Singapore gets new executive director

The European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) here said on Wednesday that it has appointed Ms Lina Baechtiger as its new executive director.

Ms Baechtiger joined EuroCham in 2012 as committee and membership manager before being promoted to deputy director. She has contributed extensively to organisation's growth strategy with her main tasks including the coordination of advocacy and lobbying work and overseeing the marketing and communication activities, said the chamber.

Said Ms Baechtiger: "Our total membership count stands at more than 150 direct members including 14 European national business groups as we continue to welcome several new members into our community."

"Throughout 2014, EuroCham has organised several key events which have encouraged greater action in safeguarding European business interests in Singapore. I look forward to an even more dynamic EuroCham in 2015 and seeing our membership grow further."

Before coming onboard EuroCham, Ms Baechtiger was events and communication manager for Swatch Group, leading a team and coordinating exhibitions, events and media relations for the watchmaker's several brands. She also worked a few years at renowned hotel school Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, being involved the implementation of operational projects and client services.

Ms Baechtiger speaks speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish, and holds a Bachelor and Master in Political Science from Université de Lausanne.
