Euro zone inflation falls to lowest since 2008 crisis: Eurostat

BRUSSELS (AFP) - Euro zone inflation fell to 0.5 per cent in March, official data showed on Monday, the lowest rate since the height of the financial crisis in 2008 and 2009.

By component, food, alcohol and tobacco prices rose 1.1 per cent in March, after rising 1.5 per cent in February, but energy costs were down 2.1 per cent, after a fall of 2.3 per cent in February, the Eurostat statistics agency said.
