SINGAPORE - Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat will visit the United States from April 14 to 22 to participate in key international gatherings.
He will attend the 2016 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, and the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meetings in Washington, DC, from April 14 to 15, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said on Wednesday (April 13).
The G20 meeting will discuss actions to promote strong, sustainable and balanced global growth and strengthen economic resilience against the weak global economic outlook.
As chairman of the Committee on the Future Economy and as deputy chairman of the National Research Foundation, Mr Heng will also meet key officials and stakeholders in the fields of research, innovation and enterprise from April 16 to 22 in Washington, DC, and Boston.
The minister will be accompanied by officials from the MOF, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the National Research Foundation.
