Two Singapore companies lauded for their success in China

SINGAPORE - Sembcorp Industries and Keppel Land China have been named among the top 10 successful Asean companies in China.

The awards were conferred by the China-Asean Business Council in a ceremony held in Beijing on Thursday.

Sembcorp, which has been investing and operating in China for the past two decades, has a presence in 14 of the country's provincial regions, including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Tianjin, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia.

For Keppel Land China, this is the third consecutive year that the unit of Keppel Group's property arm Keppel Land has been recognised for its efforts in China.

Keppel Land has a portfolio of assets worth about $6.3 billion in China, comprising more than 20 projects in 10 cities. China is the company's largest overseas market.
