SINGAPORE - Singapore Post on Monday (Nov 16) announced an organisational restructuring to focus on four pillars of growth - e-commerce, postal, logistics and operations and corporate services - with effect from Dec 1.

"Our management team is now being organised to clearly focus on integrating various areas," said SingPost chairman Lim Ho Kee.

"SingPost started transforming its business from 2003. Despite the success we have had in developing an e-commerce business, we must now focus on integrating our global acquisitions and investments in postal operations. We are taking the group forward to the next stage of its transformation."

He continued: "Our mail business has been and will continue to be the backbone of our growing e-commerce deliveries. As a national service provider with public postal service obligations, SingPost will continue to focus on the quality of service in Singapore as well as the sustainability of the mail business.

Mr Marcelo Wesseler, chief executive of SP eCommerce, will lead the SingPost's e-commerce business. He will be relocated to the United States given the importance of the acquisitions of TradeGlobal Inc and Jagged Peak there, said Singpost in a filing to the Singapore Exchange.

Mr Woo Keng Leong, chief executive of postal services, will focus on the quality of service and sustainability of the mail business.

Ms Goh Hui Ling, deputy chief executive (international mail), will be SingPost's key relationship manager with Alibaba, the world's largest e-commerce operator.

Under the logistics banner, Dr Sascha Hower, group chief operating officer of SingPost and chief executive of Quantium Solutions, will oversee the integration of logistics acquisitions across the region.
