Singapore shares open 0.82% lower on Friday

SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened 0.82% lower on Friday (Sept 30), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,862.15 in early trade, down 0.82 per cent, or 23.56 points.

Around 111.9 million shares exchanged hands.

Losers beat gainers 93 to 40.
