SINGAPORE - The Singapore Exchange was named the global exchange of 2015 at the recent Futures and Options World (FOW) International Awards ceremony.

Winning the award for the first time, the bourse was credited for its strong volume growth this year with trading levels rising over 60 per cent year-on-year.

Its efforts to expand its offshore equity derivatives suite, commodities clearing businesses and currency futures portfolio were also noted.

As a result, SGX was also named the exchange of the year in Asia, Australia and Middle East & Africa by the FOW International Awards, which recognise the growth and innovation of the best global derivatives markets.

SGX CEO Loh Boon Chye said: "We are pleased that SGX continues to receive industry recognition for our innovation and risk management products and we look forward to enhancing this further through the year ahead.
