Prudential Singapore names new chief executive

SINGAPORE - Insurer Prudential Assurance Company Singapore (Prudential Singapore) has a new chief executive.

Mr Philip Seah, previously the chief executive of Prudential Malaysia, took over from Mr Tomas Urbanec on Thursday. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Mr Seah, 60, first joined the insurer as a part-time agent in 1978. In 1990, he was named assistant general manager of field staff operations of Prudential Singapore. In 2012, he was named the chief executive of Prudential Malaysia.

Mr Tomas Urbanec was named Prudential Singapore chief executive the following year.

He joined Prudential Corporation Asia in 2008 as the regional director of integrated distribution and customer strategy, before moving to Singapore a year later.
