SINGAPORE - Energy exploration and production firm Linc Energy has received an expression of interest for its conventional oil assets in Umiat and Wyoming.
The firm said on Wednesday that the offer was "unsolicited", and that it is also in talks with other parties who have an interest in its entire oil and gas portfolio in the United States.
"It's early days on the oil asset negotiations but it's always nice to receive unsolicited approaches on our assets that reconfirm the underlying value," said Mr Peter Bond, chief executive of Linc Energy.
There is also "no assurance" that the talks will result in a binding agreement, the firm noted in a statement.
It is aiming to finalise the deal by the end of the year while it continues its efforts to develop shale deposits in South Australia and its oil assets in the Gulf Coast.
