SINGAPORE - OCBC Bank has named Mr Na Wu Beng as the new chief of Wing Hang Bank, following the successful conclusion in its takeover of the Hong Kong bank.

Mr Na will assume the post of chief executive of Wing Hang with effect from Aug 18.

Dr Patrick Fung, Wing Hang Bank's current chairman and chief executive, will relinquish his role as chief executive, but will remain as non-executive chairman with effect from the same date.

Mr Na, 58, was the deputy president director of Bank OCBC NISP, OCBC's Indonesian banking unit, for 10 years.

He drove the corporate banking business, successfully transferring customer and product solutions from Singapore and Malaysia to Indonesia, said OCBC in a statement.

He also led "collaborative efforts between OCBC Bank and OCBC NISP" across different business functions including corporate banking, consumer banking, and risk management.
