1 Malaysia's foreign reserves rose by US$0.6 billion to US$95.3 billion as at mid-September. The level is sufficient to finance 7.3 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the redefined short-term external debt.

2 London is the world's leading financial centre, said a survey of industry professionals by research firm Z/Yen yesterday. The city benefited from the Conservative Party's clear election victory to overtake New York, it said.

3 Singapore tax collection has hit a record high of $43.4 billion. The taxman raked in the record revenue in the last financial year as individuals and firms earned more and contributed to the Government's coffers.

4 Investment sales for the third quarter are estimated at around $2.86 billion, down 35 per cent from the second quarter and 44 per cent lower than a year ago, said CBRE. This includes the sale of three good class bungalows.

5 Osim continues its practice of using celebrities to endorse its products. The latest are showbiz couple Fann Wong and Christopher Lee, who are promoting the uMagic, the neck and shoulders massage chair.
