Markets highlights

1 While Asian markets appear to have shaken off most of the jitters related to the Greek debt, sentiment has clearly turned bearish on the Shanghai market.

2 Singapore investment company Temasek Holdings, whose portfolio companies make up a large part of the Straits Times Index, said its net portfolio value grew $43 billion to a record $266 billion for the year ended March 31.

3 Flash estimates for Singapore's gross domestic product for the second quarter will be released next Tuesday. Economists expect growth to come in at 2.7 per cent compared with a year ago.

4 Digiland International, an IT company turned oil and gas player, has appointed Dr Goh Jin Hian as chief executive, effective yesterday. Dr Goh is the son of Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

5 Armarda Group says it will not proceed with a proposed share consolidation due to recent volatility in its shares.
