Market highlights

  1. Bank Negara's foreign reserves rose to US$97 billion (S$131 billion) as at end March, marking the sixth straight month of increase in reserves.
  2. Stainless steel products distributor Sin Ghee Huat warned that it expects to record a loss for the third quarter ended March 31.
  3. Venture Corp chief executive Wong Ngit Liong exercised 60,000 options for $426,240.
  4. Supermarket player Sheng Siong said it was granted an option by Heartland Retail to buy the premises at Block 209, New Upper Changi Road, for $53 million.
  5. The auditor of nursing home operator Pacific Healthcare said it could not give an audit opinion on the group's financial statements. With a net liability position of $2.1 million, the group may be unable to continue as a going concern.
