Market highlights

  1. DBS bank is seen as leading the race to buy British bank Barclays' Hong Kong and Singapore private wealth units, valued at as much as US$300 million (S$408 million) , Reuters said. OCBC is also in the race, sources said.
  2. The three largest Thai stocks listed here - Thai Beverage, KrisEnergy and Sri Trang Agro-Industry - have averaged a 15.2 per cent total return so far this year, said the SGX.
  3. The three largest Indonesian stocks - Jardine Cycle & Carriage, Golden Agri-Resources and First Resources - have averaged a 14.7 per cent total return, the SGX said.
  4. Noble Group has issued 191.15 million stock options with an exercise price of 43 cents.Among these, five million were granted to Noble director William James Randall.
  5. Marine services firm Ezra Holdings has fully redeemed its $95 million fixed rate notes with a coupon of 4.75 per cent which were due yesterday. The firm has no outstanding notes remaining.
