Market highlights

1 Shares in Europe were weaker in midday trading yesterday as investors assessed the impact of China's growth plans and the potential for European Central Bank stimulus measures this week.

2 Malaysia's central bank said reserves as of Feb 29 were US$95.6 billion (S$132 billion), unchanged from Feb 15, adding that reserves were sufficient to finance 8.3 months of retained imports, reported Reuters.

3 The 11 stocks to join the FTSE ST Catalist Index on March 21 have a combined market value of $733 million. They include Secura, Eindec and GS. The best performers this year are OLS Enterprise, Transcorp and Jumbo Group.

4 Courts Asia has issued a $75 million three-year bond with a coupon of 5.75 per cent, with 97 per cent of the investors from Singapore, said DBS Bank, which arranged the issue.

5 SingPost said it has completed its acquisition of Jagged Peak. The United States e-commerce logistics firm is now a 71.1 per cent subsidiary.
