Market highlights

1 Mencast Holdings expects to report a loss for the fourth quarter and full year, primarily due to the protracted weakness in the oil and gas industry, which affected its offshore and engineering segment.


2 Singapore-listed Riverstone, a maker of clean-room and healthcare gloves, said net profit for the full year fell 4.9 per cent to RM120.4 million (S$38.3m), due to costlier raw materials and forex volatility.


3 3Cnergy, which provides real estate-related services, had a full-year loss of $5.19 million as revenue slipped 13.3 per cent to $1.15 million, due to lower sales from architectural design and project management.


4 Roxy-Pacific Holdings has entered a joint venture with RH Capital and its shareholder, Mr Lin Bing Cheng, to buy and develop freehold sites in Upper Bukit Timah Road.


5 Keppel Corp bought back 414,600 shares yesterday at prices ranging from $6.63 to $6.73 apiece, spending more than $2.77 million. The firm has bought back more than one million shares since April 19.
