Market highlights

1 Two of Europe's biggest banks - Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank - will be dropped from a key index of Europe's top 50 blue-chip companies, Stoxx50, Reuters said.

2 Blumont Group expects to report net losses for the second quarter and half-year ended June 30. These expected losses arose mainly from the fair value readjustments of its investments.

3 ES Group expects to report a net loss for the half-year ended June 30, mainly due to a drop in sales revenue as a result of the continuing slowdown in the global offshore, marine and shipping industry in which the company operates.

4 Global Yellow Pages expects to report a loss for the year ended June 30, partly due to the impairment of its stake in Singapore River Explorer as well as its investment in Yamada Green Resources.

5 Matex International says that the date for its transfer from the Singapore Exchange mainboard to the Catalist board will be next Monday, Aug 8.
