Market highlights

1 Malaysia's ringgit rose to a three-week high after crude prices rallied to levels last seen in October.The currency led gains in emerging Asia after Brent jumped over 2 per cent overnight above US$52 a barrel.

2 Hoe Leong said the winding-up petitions filed against two of the firm's associates in Malaysia, Semua Chemical Shipping and Semua Shipping, have been withdrawn in the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

3 Atlantic Navigation, provider of marine logistics services in the Middle East, signed deals with a China shipyard to supply two anchor-handling tug, supply and safety standby vessels and five maintenance, work, utility vessels.

4 Real estate and investment firm Rowsley said substantial shareholder Albert Hong sold 4.54 million shares for about $604,000.

5 LifeBrandz net losses narrowed to $159,000 for the three months ended April 30, lower than the $651,000 recorded previously.
