SINGAPORE - The FTSE Asean Index series has been expanded to include a comprehensive suite of indices broadly covering the growing Asean equity market, according to an announcement today by global index provider FTSE Group and the Asean Exchanges.

With the inclusion of Vietnamese stocks listed on the Hanoi Stock Exchange and the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the new FTSE Asean Index series benchmark will represent about 90-95 per cent of the region's investable market capitalization.

The indices comprising the FTSE Asean Index series include: FTSE Asean All-Share Index; FTSE Asean Sector Indices; FTSE/Asean 40 Index; FTSE Asean Stars Index and FTSE Asean All-Share ex Developed Index.

The indices are free-float adjusted and calculated in accordance with the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB).

The FTSE Asean Index series was established in partnership with Asean Finance Ministers to brand Asean as an asset class and promote it as a regional equity market grouping.
