Emerson Process Management invests in two Singapore facilities

SINGAPORE - American technology and engineering firm Emerson Process Management has invested more than US$21 million (S$26.6 million) in two new facilities here.

The first is a US$11 million facility which will produce and distribute the company's Rosemount Analytical brand of solutions, including liquid and combustion analysis sensors used mainly in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries.

Some design and engineering work at the facility will begin this month, while manufacturing will start early in 2015.

The other facility is a US$10 million centre of excellence which will make use of data analytics to help the firm's customers solve problems and improve efficiency. This is the company's first such centre globally.

"The process industries often don't have the resources or expertise to adopt new technologies that are critical to keeping their plants up and running. Our centre will create solutions that will help customers globally address these challenges and operate more efficiently and profitably," said Mr Sabee Mitra, the president of Emerson Process Management Asia Pacific.

The two new facilities will employ about 115 people in total.
