ecoWise, China Environment and China Sky queried by SGX as shares spike

SINGAPORE - A spike in share price and "unusual volume movements" of shares at three firms, prompted queries from the Singapore Exchange (SGX) on Friday (March 11).

The largest gainer was ecoWise Holdings, an environmental solutions company. The counter opened at 3.7 Singapore cents and surged to 5.3 cents at 9.58 am, up nearly 56 per cent from its close of 34 cents in Thursday. Its gains were pared to 4.9 cents as of 10.40am.

Meanwhile, shares of China Environment, provider of waste gas treatment systems, jumped 30.5 per cent to 7.7 cents as of 10.40 am. The counter hit a high of 8.1 cents at 10.19 am.

The third counter which drew a query from SGX was China Sky Chemical Fibre, manufacturer of chemical fibers for a range of commercial applications. It opened at 3.8 cents and shot up to 4.6 cents at 9.19 am. As at 10.40 am, the counter was trading at 4.3 cents, up 13.2 per cent.
