Corporate lawyer joins SPH Reit Management board

Ms Rachel Eng has been appointed as an independent non-executive board director of SPH Reit Management (SPHRM) with effect from yesterday.

Ms Eng, 47, is the joint managing partner of WongPartnership LLP, and a board member at StarHub, Certis Cisco Security, PUB and Singapore Accountancy Commission.

She also sits on the Board of Trustees of Singapore Institute of Technology and the Council of the Singapore Business Federation.

"I would like to thank SPHRM for the opportunity to serve on the board. It maintains an excellent footing in the competitive market with two well-positioned malls - Paragon and The Clementi Mall," Ms Eng said. "I look forward to contributing to its growth and success."

The Reit manager's chairman Leong Horn Kee said: "On behalf of the SPH Reit board, I welcome Rachel on board. She is often consulted on legal issues related to Reit matters, and is well regarded for offering sound, astute and practical advice. Her relevant experience and knowledge of the real estate market will be an asset, and we look forward to her valuable contribution to the deliberations of the board."

Ms Eng was named Her World Woman of the Year 2014 by Her World magazine, and awarded Law Firm Managing Partner of the Year at the ALB South East Asia Law Awards 2013.
