Company Briefs: Ellipsiz

Ellipsiz

Semiconductor equipment provider Ellipsiz's net profit for the year to June 30 surged 44 per cent to $9.6 million, and revenue rose 6 per cent to $118.7 million, thanks to a strong showing in the probe card solutions business.

Probe card solutions sales rose 15 per cent over the previous financial year, while distribution and services solutions fell 8 per cent. The company said in its exchange filing yesterday that it is "cautious" about prospects across key markets for the rest of 2016.

Earnings per share for the year was 5.74 cents, up from 4.01 cents the preceding year. Net asset value per share was 76.43 cents as at June 30, up from 72.67 cents a year ago.

ARA Asset Management

Strong growth in fees from managing real estate investment trusts (Reits) and investment portfolios lifted ARA Asset Management's results in the first half.

Net profit for the six months to June 30 rose 9 per cent to $38.7 million, while revenue increased 10 per cent to $81.6 million.

Management fees - accounting for the lion's share of total turnover - rose 10 per cent to $67.9 million.

Despite "overall prevailing uncertainty", ARA group chief executive John Lim said the performance of the property portfolios under management continues to be stable.

Earnings per share for the half-year was 3.88 cents, down from 4.09 cents in the corresponding period a year ago. Net asset value per share was 54.92 cents as at June 30, up from 52.17 cents as at Dec 31 last year.

OUE Commercial Reit

OUE Commercial Reit (real estate investment trust) has posted second-quarter distribution per unit of 1.36 cents, up 34.7 per cent from the same period a year ago.

The amount available for distribution rose 38.6 per cent year-on-year to $17.7 million for the three months ended June 30, due primarily to contributions from One Raffles Place, which was acquired in October 2015.

Net property income was $35.2 million for the quarter, up from $14.7 million a year ago. Excluding contributions from One Raffles Place, net property income in the quarter came in 15.9 per cent higher than last year.

Gross revenue more than doubled to $45.7 million, due mainly to contributions from One Raffles Place as well as improved performance at OUE Bayfront and Lippo Plaza.
