Centurion to buy RMIT Village in Australia for AUD$60 million

A LOCAL firm that runs worker accommodation facilities in Malaysia and Singapore is venturing into student housing in Australia.

Centurion Corporation will buy RMIT Village and an adjoining car park building in Melbourne for A$60 million (S$68.37 million), it announced on Thursday.

The property is on the northern edge of the central business district, near RMIT University and the University of Melbourne.

The accommodation block is on a 4,000 sq m freehold plot with 229 apartments and about 456 beds.
