Citi finds room for venture with Airbnb

Citi has started a regional partnership with home-sharing online platform Airbnb.

The partnership, launched in Singapore on Oct 25, will expand to other markets across Asia, including Australia, Indonesia and Thailand.

Citi has announced a number of other digital partnerships this year, including with Grab, Alipay, WeChat, Line and Lazada.

"We have seen that the rapid adoption of mobile and other digital channels has truly transformed how people book their accommodation for business or leisure and we are delighted to partner with Airbnb in Asia," said Mr Anand Selva, Citi's head of Asia-Pacific consumer banking.

Citi cardholders will receive a $50 discount on their first Airbnb booking, with a minimum spend of at least $250.
