CARACAS (AFP) - Opposition leader Henrique Capriles announced Sunday that he will run in the April 14 presidential election against acting President Nicolas Maduro.

"Nicolas, I won't leave you an open path, mate. You will have to defeat me with votes," Capriles told a news conference, accepting the nomination of a coalition of opposition parties in the race to succeed Hugo Chavez.
