Thousands of Mursi supporters hold protest in Israel
NAZARETH (AFP) - Thousands of Arab supporters of the Islamic Movement in Israel demonstrated on Saturday in support of Egypt's ousted Islamist president Mohamed Mursi, an AFP correspondent said.
Around 4,000 people led by firebrand preacher Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement, took part in the protest in the northern city of Nazareth, the correspondent said.
The demonstrators marched holding Egyptian flags as well as pictures of Mr Mursi and chanting against Egyptian army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who led the overthrow of Mr Mursi, claiming he was "taking orders from the US".
A police spokesman said the demonstration passed without event.
