Stricken United plane pilot dies after emergency landing
BOISE, IDAHO (AP) - The stricken pilot of a United Airlines flight that made an emergency landing has died, a hospital has announced.
United Flight 1603, with 161 passengers, was flying from Houston to Seattle when the medical emergency forced it to make the landing about 8pm in Boise, Idaho. The passengers were put on another plane and completed their trip to Sea-Tac Airport.
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Centre spokesman Jennifer Krajnik said on Friday the man died overnight at the hospital. A United statement early on Friday morning identified the man as a pilot on the flight. The airline did not give his name, citing privacy reasons.
