Pakistan lodges US protest over film
ISLAMABAD (AFP) - Pakistan said on Friday it summoned the most senior United States (US) diplomat in Islamabad to protest against a YouTube trailer for an anti-Islam film made by a small group of extremists in the US.
The US embassy said only that charge d'affaires Richard Hoagland had a meeting at the Pakistani foreign ministry to discuss the controversial video, which has fanned unrest across the Muslim and Arab world killing more than 30 people.
Pakistan said its foreign ministry called on the US government to take immediate measures to remove the video from YouTube and take action against its makers.
The US embassy said Mr Hoagland reiterated the US government's condemnation of the video and that the administration had nothing to do with its production.
