New York City man arrested in cleaver attack on his wife
NEW YORK (AP) - A man has been arrested after authorities say he hacked at his wife with a meat cleaver on a New York City street before firefighters rescued her.
Police say Ming Guang Huang was hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation on Monday. He was arrested on charges including attempted murder. It's not immediately clear whether the 28-year-old has a lawyer.
Authorities say the attack unfolded on Sunday on the main thoroughfare in New York City's Chinatown.
Firefighters say they saw Huang dragging a screaming woman along Canal Street. Authorities say he pulled out the knife and slashed her as firefighters rushed over and subdued him.
