Japanese women stabbed in Turkey's tourist site
ANKARA (AFP) - A Japanese woman was killed and another badly injured in a stabbing attack in Cappadocia, a popular tourist area in central Turkey, the local governor said on Tuesday.
The two women were attacked while hiking in the Zemi valley on Monday, Governor Mehmet Ceylan was quoted as saying by the Dogan news agency.
Ms Mai Kurihara, 22, was killed and her friend Ms Hoshie Teramatsu, also 22, is being treated in a regional hospital, the governor said.
Other travellers found the pair unconscious and alerted the authorities.
