Freed Pussy Riot member files complaint with Europe rights court
MOSCOW (AFP) - The freed member of the Pussy Riot punk band has filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights over breaches of rights to a fair trial and inhumane detention conditions, she said on Friday.
"It's an initial complaint. The full complaint will be submitted in a month or two," Ms Yekaterina Samutsevich, 30, who was freed on appeal, said.
"First of all, it says our arrest was illegal," she said, listing the complaint's content.
"Secondly it says that during the trial, our rights were breached: the rights of defendants, the adversarial principle, that is they did not call the defence witnesses."
