Florida teen dies after being shocked by police
MIAMI BEACH (AP) - A teenager who died after being shocked by Miami Beach police had said he was an artist who wanted to change the world through art.
Israel Hernandez-Llach had turned 18 shortly before police found him spray-painting a shuttered building early on Tuesday. The teen ran but was eventually cornered.
Chief Ray Martinez said the teen ran at officers and one shot him with a Taser in the chest. He went into medical duress and died at a hospital.
His sister Offir Hernandez told The Miami Herald that the family wants answers. They're seeking an independent investigation of the incident.
