BUENOS AIRES (AFP) - Doctors at a major Buenos Aires hospital barricaded themselves inside offices when irate relatives of people who died in a car accident tried to attack them, news reports said.

Alberto Castaneda, head of the night shift at Fiorito de Avellanada Hospital said a crowd of more than 50 people threatened medical staffers and some patients had to be evacuated.

It all happened overnight Saturday when relatives of a two people who suffered critical injuries in a car crash died. Some angry relatives pulled out guns, said another night-shift doctor, Miriam Cobos.

Things got so out of hand the provincial health minister reported to the scene and told the family members that the accident victims had received proper medical care.
