Diver injured after being attacked by shark off Australia's west coast
SYDNEY (AP) - A diver has been injured in a shark attack off Australia's west coast.
Western Australia state police spokesman Sgt. Gerry Cassidy says the man was attacked on Tuesday morning in a remote area near the southwest city of Esperance.
Cassidy says the man was diving for abalone when he was attacked.
A spokesman for the St. John Ambulance service says the 55-year-old victim has been taken to a hospital in Esperance for treatment. No information was immediately available on his injuries and his name was not released.
