Canada's 'black widow' charged with attempted murder of husband
OTTAWA (AFP) - A 77-year-old Canadian woman dubbed the "Internet Black Widow" for marrying widowers and then killing or bilking them has been charged with the attempted murder of her husband of two weeks.
Cape Breton police in Canada's easternmost Nova Scotia province arrested Millie Weeks, also known as Melissa Friedrich, on Monday after her current husband became violently ill.
She is accused of trying to poison him.
Mr Fred Weeks, 75, was taken on Sunday to hospital where doctors became suspicious and called police. He is now recovering.
