Bulldog survives after being hit by 500 porcupine spines

A bulldog in Norman, Oklahoma received a nasty surprise when it clashed with a porcupine earlier this month.
Vets had to remove the nasty-looking spikes, which numbered more than 500, embedded in Bella Mae's face and paws.
The three-year-old dog was kept on medication and under close supervision at the Norman Animal Emergency Centre for nearly a week before being sent home last Thursday.
Fortunately, the animal's eyes were not injured, and it has not lost its sight.
