Bomb blast near park in central Iraqi town kills 4, including 2 children
BAGHDAD (AP) - Iraqi authorities say a bomb near a park south of Baghdad has killed four people, including two children, who were celebrating the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Police officials said that the Saturday afternoon blast in the town of Zubeidiyah wounded another 16, including women and children. It went off as families were enjoying the holiday, which marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Zubeidiyah is about 40km south of Baghdad.
A medical official confirmed the casualty figures. All officials spoke anonymously because they were not authorised to talk to the media.
