PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) - The Qatar Haiti Fund and former United States (US) President Bill Clinton have announced US$12 million (S$14.6 million) to help Haiti recover from the 2010 earthquake.

The money will go toward a range of projects. They include the US$5.5 million development of the University of Notre Dame in Haiti's capital of Port-au-Prince. One million dollars of that money will provide scholarships for students who would never have been able to attend university.

Another US$2 million will go toward Partners in Health. The Boston-based nonprofit will use the money to create mobile clinics with all-terrain vehicles.

Haiti was struck by a massive earthquake that displaced more a million people and toppled thousands of buildings.
