CES 2014: Samsung launches two new 12.2-inch Android tablets
After defining the term phablet with its oversized tablet-like Galaxy Note Android smartphones, Samsung is looking to redefine what consumers want in a tablet, by launching not one, but two 12.2-inch Android tablets.
Instead of sticking with the standard 10.1-inch tablet size, Samsung says that the larger size devices are for more productive uses, as the new tablets are now capable for a four-way split-screen multitasking feature.
The Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 12.2-inch tablet is a standard tablet, while the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2-inch comes with Samsung's own S Pen stylus for handwriting and note taking use.
Samsung also announced a 8.4-inch TabPRO and a 10.1-inch TabPRO. All four devices come with a new magazine styled user interface, and will be available in the first quarter of the year.
